Wasim Rizvi, also known as Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi after his conversion, was an Indian Shia Muslim who served as the chairman of the Shia Waqf Board in Uttar Pradesh. He was a controversial figure, known for his petitions and statements concerning the <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Quran">Quran</a> and Islamic practices. These actions led to widespread condemnation from various Muslim communities.
Rizvi filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India seeking the removal of 26 verses from the Quran, alleging they promoted violence. This action sparked significant outrage and protests across India and internationally. Several <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/FIR">FIR</a>s were filed against him.
In December 2021, he converted to Hinduism, adopting the name Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi. His conversion was performed by Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, a controversial Hindu priest. After his conversion, he continued to be a vocal figure, expressing views on religion and <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/politics">politics</a>.
He passed away in 2022 due to prolonged illness.
